As I was doing my devotional, I read something a different way than usual. I was reading about the man who was at the well that had been an invalid for 38 years. He was just lying there when the Lord came up. After the Lord asked him if he wanted to get well, he gave excuses as to why he had not yet done that. He told him about everyone who always passed him by to get what they wanted from the well and never helped him. Jesus simply told him to get up and to take his bed with him. That to me says that it is that simple. We have to be like Nike's slogan and just do it! The excuses don't work. People are only going to do what they want to do if they want to do anything. They are on their own path and just may not have you on their mind. This is not always a bad thing. God never intended for everyone in you path to help you. Some of those you are supposed to help. If you wait on handouts, you will most times be left waiting. You must do for yourself and then the reward is then permanent.
