What Does Your "I Apologize" Really Mean

September 5, 2012

When you say I am sorry, what does that really mean?  Is there any motive behind it?  What do you expect in return? I am sorry should come from the heart.  There should never be a time that you use it to get what you want from a person only.  There has to be a fine line drawn that expects nothing in return.  Even if the person does not accept your words, you must know that you did the right thing.  On many occasions I have experienced someone not accepting my apology and I did not quite know how to handle that.  The thing that I had to learn was, that God gives us rules to play by for us to keep it together.  It is not for the other person.  The lessons learned are learned in those situations by you and whether the person involved acknowledges you or not, He does.  This is what matters most.  Sometimes people don't accept apologies because they don't feel the sincerity.  They don't feel that it is genuine enough to believe.  So to this I say, have no motive in your I'm sorry.  Do it as unto the Lord and you will be blessed.
