Success is ...

June 23, 2012

Success is measured differently by each person.  What my success is will be different than yours.  Some people strive to accomplish at the office success by impressing the boss and making a great name with their peers.  Others reach for the business achievements which affords them the fancy cars, houses and other worldly things.  I personally have come to realize that there is no success like family.  After gaining certain successes in the world and watching the sacrifice that my family had to make on a regular basis in order for me to achieve those accolades, I realized that they are my greatest attribute.  I don't want to have all of the fancy titles and great positions if I am a failure at home.  They are my greatest reward.  It is my job to be an example for them and teach them to reach for greater, but not to lose my footing at home in the process.  There has to be BALANCE and that spells SUCCESS to me!  I now have that and I love it.  They see me differently (because they see me more).  They are not living the microwave life any more or taking what is left of me.  I am not giving someone else the extra and giving them crumbs.  We have our sit down dinners and conversation like we are supposed to.  I can watch them grow and provide the trailblazing scenery that they are supposed to experience.  Some things are are priceless and time sensitive.  I cannot tell you how to find your peace with where you are.  All I can say is that some things in life are just not worth losing in order to gain.  When you accepted the challenge of raising God's gift, the game changed.  When you have the success at home, the business is sure to follow.  Take time and learn what success means to you.
