Consistency Is Key...

June 8, 2012

The worst thing that you can do is to say what you want to do, start the mission and then abort.  Consistency is the key.  There is no way that you can think that you will get to your destination if you do not consistently work at it.  I know because I too have procrastinated.  When you are a creative person, you tend to get side tracked quite a bit.  Your focus can easily be tilted when other projects are pressing too.  Another issue is that time gets away from you because you are busy accepting other responsibilities that do not belong to you.  Just because everyone has something that they want you to do, does not mean that you have to say "YES".  You have to learn to say no so that there is no distraction to hinder your progress with the path that you were already on.  Keep digging until you strike oil if that is what you have set out to do.  Set your short and long term goals and the information needed to effectively execute.  Make it a point to do some work on your short term obligation to the project everyday with completion of each daily task.  Start to cross things off as they are finished.  Before you know it you will have finished the entire goal.  Doing it this way may seem slower but it is correct.  I assure you that you will appreciate the PROCESS in the long run...

  1. You are right consistency is the key. In the pass, I've had so many people pulling me in so many different directions to help with their agenda, I could hardly keep up. Needless to say I was not getting much done for me or them, until I learned that huge word with only 2 letters (NO). I still help, but with limits. I am making tremendous strides since I learned to focus on MY-Stuff!
